For Families
Visitation Policy
Visitors include family members, friends or other individuals as determined by the patient.
A Visitor, or in some cases more than one visitor, may be chosen by the patient for emotional support and be allowed to stay throughout the entire course of the stay unless the individual’s presence infringes on others’ rights, safety, or is medically or therapeutically contraindicated. The individual may or may not be the patient’s representative.
“Visitation rights” include the right to receive the visitors designated by the patient, including, but not limited to, a spouse, a domestic partner (including a same-sex domestic partner), another family member, or a friend. However, the patient or hospital staff has the right to withdraw or deny such ‘rights’ at any time.
Visiting hours are as follows unless otherwise designated: ContinueCARE Hospital at Hendrick Medical Center: 6:00 am – 10:00 pm
All visitors must be able to safely stay alone and take care of their own needs and minors must be accompanied by a competent adult other than the patient. (ContinueCARE Hospital at Hendrick Medical recognizes a minor being a child under the age of 18).
“Quiet Time” is observed on most units. During these times, visitors are limited to emotional support and/or patient’s designated person(s).
These rules may be subject to department specific policies.
